Axle Mobility — EV Technician Training Platform

A full redesign of Axle Mobility's EV technician training platform — including brand voice development, UX overhaul, and gamified learning experiences — to support fleet managers transitioning to electric vehicles.

The Challenge

Axle Mobility's training materials were technically accurate but inconsistent in voice and brand alignment. The platform itself overwhelmed users — both technicians and administrators — with too much information and too many friction points. Creating training groups, assigning sites, and tracking progress were all more complicated than they needed to be. Users had little reason to return once they'd completed a course.

Our Approach

Dan developed a brand positioning statement and manifesto to give all content a consistent voice and direction. AI tools were used to align existing training material with the new brand standards at scale. For the platform, user interviews and direct client feedback informed a full UX redesign — new technician flows that emphasized focus and forward momentum, gamification elements including rankings and progress milestones, and a streamlined admin dashboard with a completely rebuilt onboarding process.

The Outcome

Axle Mobility's platform now gives technicians a genuinely rewarding learning experience and administrators clear visibility into team progress. The training program is positioned for continued growth as fleet electrification accelerates through 2025 and beyond.
